Functional safety on machines – monitoring with safety relay ESR5

The EC machinery directive 2006/42/EC demands that there is no danger posed by machines.

The monitoring of safety-oriented components such as Emergency-Stop circuits, safety doors, light curtains, two-hand controls, etc. is an important criteria for fulfilment of this requirement.

The new ESR5 safety relays provide optimum safety and the highest levels of reliability on machines and systems.

The product selection includes safety functions such as:

§   Circuits for standstill in an emergency

§   Safety door monitoring

§   Light curtain monitoring

§   Two-hand control monitoring.

With the ESR5 device series, applications for the highest safety demands compliant to EN ISO 13849-1 up to PL e, to IEC 62061 up to SIL CL 3, and to IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 are implemented.

The ESR5 safety relays are approved by:
– TÜV Rheinland
– UL /CUL
– CSA (has been submitted).
